Depew, N.Y. – SKM Group, a full-service marketing communications agency, made a big splash in the days leading up to and following Super Bowl XLIX, with its advertising experts appearing in multiple local media outlets to preview or recap the commercials that aired during the big game.
Often thought of as the Holy Grail for advertisers, Super Bowl games are one of the most watched television events of the year, and companies pay top dollar to ensure their brands and messaging are seen by as many people as possible. This year, the average rate for a 30 second spot was $4.5 million, up seven percent from 2014. The pressure is on for marketing professionals to create commercials and campaigns that are memorable and portray their brand in the best light.
SKM copywriter Greg Bauch started off the media blitz as a special guest on WBEN-AM’s morning show on Friday, January 30 to offer his opinion on the commercials that had been pre-released. The Buffalo News included a quote from senior copywriter Scott Kerrigan in an article that ran on Saturday, January 31. And executive creative director Monish Bhattacharyya was up before dawn, appearing on WIVB-TV’s “Wake Up!” morning news show as well as in a story that ran during WGRZ-TV’s noon news broadcast.
